The Andrews Truck design represented technical improvements in foundry practice over the older arch bar type. This truck used a single casting forming the side frame, with separately cast journal boxes bolted to the frame. Like our Arch Bar trucks, the Andrews trucks have rib-backed wheelsets pressed onto hardened and ground steel axles. They also both use friction-type half-bearings in the journal boxes just like the prototype. Despite the term, these journals perform very well when properly lubricated. this truck kit comes with all holes drilled or cored and is complete with all the necessary fasteners needed to make a pair of authentic Andrews trucks.   We regret that we do not currently offer brake gear for 5" gauge trucks
